Pricing

There are different ways companies charge for services they provide to you. There are about three common methods that most companies use for their pricing structure. Below describes those ways and lets you know the the advantages and disadvantages.

Time and Materials

This method of pricing is very simple in the way it works. Materials are; wires, custom strapping, zip ties basically anything needed to install the replacement part. Time is simple, it is the hourly labor that the company charges for the technician to do the repair.

Pro: The material cost the part and materials are low and save you money!

Con: The labor is where it is going to cost you. There is usually a high hourly rate charged with a minimum of one hour for repairs.

The amount of time to do the repair is going to depend on how seasoned the technician is. Example; some one that has been in the field with more experience might get a very typical repair done in an hour. A technician with less experience could take two or three times as long for the same repair costing you $$$!

Flat Rate Without Tax

This method of pricing is different then time and materials. Instead of a fix rate for the part(s) and material then a sliding scale for labor, this is the total cost of the replacement part the materials needed to install it and the labor.

Pro: No matter if the repair takes an hour or three hours there are no additional cost for labor. This is a huge SAVINGS for the client.

Con: Nothing really here other then there is tax not included in the price.

Flat Rate With Tax

This is the total cost of the replacement part, the materials needed to install it, labor and tax.

Pro: This is the total price with tax. No matter if the repair takes an hour or three hours there are no additional cost for labor. This is a huge SAVINGS for the client.

Con: Nothing really here other then there is tax not included in the price.
